zoltan_902 141
Once upon a time he used to wear polo shirts. I noticed ever since his pacemaker operation, he doesn't seem to have appeared in public in anything other than his turtleneck (or tails when conducting). Also, since the operation, I can't help but notice that his shoulder movement has been inhibited somewhat - he used to be able to make such grand sweep gestures with the baton. Now days he's more restrained.

Popular Post MrScratch 294
That original program I posted ended up being the actual program. The first half concluded with Rey/RiR/Finale from Star Wars conducted by Marin. The second half of the concert concluded with Adventures On Earth conducted by Williams. The only change was that Scherzo for Motorcycle was dropped and the Adventures Of Han opened the second half of the program. I'd have rather heard Scherzo for Motorcycle, I was excited to hear that live. The encores were Han Solo And The Princess, To Lenny (conducted by Marin Alsop) and the Imperial March. The Memoirs Of A Geisha suite was freaking amazing. I have new appreciation for that score after seeing it live. Popular Post Saxman717 22
\ WOW! What a concert!!! That's my wife and me in the middle with the blue shirt, behind the really tall guy (who kept accidentally blocking my view of JW....)---- Johnny is looking right at me. Awesome picture and amazing night. The highlights for me were Memoirs of a Geisha, Adventures on Earth, and Han Solo & the Princess. JW hilariously had a slipup and started to call the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra the Boston Symphony Orchestra ---- the crowd let him have it, and he then followed up with a comment about how he will have a really tough time returning to Boston after throwing the opening pitch at the Baltimore Orioles game. Half the fun of attending a JW concert is getting these fun stories in between brilliant performances. Popular Post Mitth'raw'nuorodo 43
I went to the concert too! Absolutely loved Adventures of Han (when am I ever going to hear that live again? Probably never)!! E.T. and Shark Cage Fugue were also incredible! I loved that we got Williams pieces from all three of the new movies he's done. And the Throne Room . . . incredible. I loved that they used the Revenge of the Sith end credits Throne Room suite; that's always been my favorite end credits suite of all time. I actually teared up during those moving renditions of the B section of the Throne Room; it was so emotional and well-played. Agggh! Why can't he do five more of these performances in Baltimore before he leaves? I need to attend more film music concerts. Popular Post Max 141
I had a great time at the concert last night! This was my second time seeing Williams live (the first being Lexington, Kentucky, in February 2014), and he was just as lively and exciting now as he was then. I'm so glad I was able to attend! I was sad that they didn't play "Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra," but I loved getting to hear "The Adventures of Han" and the new "Han Solo and the Princess" arrangement live. Such wonderful pieces! Ricard, SteveMc, Saxman717 and 2 others 4

Yeah, I wanted to be as close to Williams as possible without looking at his backside the entire time. I sat here the last time I saw him. I like sitting up front by the string section too, sitting so close I often hear things in performances that I didn’t notice in the recordings. I also had a great view of Johannes Moser performing the Geisha suite, that was amazing to hear AND see up close. It’s also neat to see Williams interact with the musicians during and in between pieces. Marin Alsop was still onstage when the Imperial March began and upon hearing it the crowd burst into applause. Williams shot Marin a sly sarcastic smile and rolled his eyes a bit. Mitth'raw'nuorodo

Years ago a friend had shared the score & recording (it does read Wallfisch on the conductor score).
