Popular Post DangerMotif 1,038
LLLCD 1637 Music by John Barry “All Time High” Composed by John Barry Lyrics by Tim Rice Performed by Rita Coolidge Limited Edition of 5000 Units RETAIL PRICE: $31.98 La-La Land Records, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, EON Productions and Universal Music Enterprises proudly commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the 1983 James Bond film OCTOPUSSY, with a remastered and expanded 2-CD re-issue of composer John Barry’s original motion picture score to the film, starring Roger Moore in his sixth turn as 007 and directed by John Glen. Legendary composer John Barry (GOLDFINGER, YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, DANCES WITH WOLVES) returns again to the Bond franchise with OCTOPUSSY, delivering another bold, thrilling, dramatic and romantic orchestral score, along with a dreamily smooth and sensuous title track performed by Rita Coolidge. The renowned composer combines his chase-and-action style from the’60s with his more sophisticated, symphonic approach of the late ’70s and early ’80s, giving 007 the best of both musical worlds. OCTOPUSSY – 40th ANNIVERSARY EXPANDED LIMITED EDITION showcases the film’s music in exhilarating fashion, with improved sound and never-before-released material. Produced by Neil S. Bulk and mastered by Doug Schwartz, Disc One of this deluxe release showcases the film’s Score Presentation and additional music, while a remaster of the original 1983 soundtrack album is housed on Disc Two, along with the CD premiere of the “Extended Instrumental Version” of “All Time High”! The film score on Disc One was sourced from ¼ inch stereo tapes of the film mixes, while Disc Two’s original 1983 soundtrack and the “Extended Instrumental Version” of “All Time High” are from ¼ inch stereo album masters. All of the tapes were newly transferred in high resolution for this set. This special release is limited to 5000 units and features exclusive, in-depth liner notes by “The Music of James Bond” author Jon Burlingame and sharp art design by Dan Goldwasser. Popular Post Damien F 1,742
A wonderful Christmas surprise. Octopussy has been on my holy-grail list of expanded releases for about 20 years. The intro to India is gonna sound strange without the helicopter noise. Hopefully the other Moore scores are in the pipeline too. Yavar Moradi, Badzeee and MikeH

Tom Guernsey 2,286
I thought LLL were done for the year! How jolly. I probably listen to JB’s 80s Bond scores more than the earlier ones (I know I know) and Octopussy is clearly massively incomplete so it’ll be great to have the full thing. Bodes well for some other Bond expansions and maybe reissues of those which suffered from the weird production requirements imposed on them. I just thought it was “Black Friday” and out. But hey I honestly think I enjoy a totally unexpected release like this more than anything these days. Can’t wait to hear it. Although it’s a shame they didn’t uncover a never before discovered song that uses the film’s title… that would be some next level rhyming and scanning right there. Jay 37,369
Most labels never announce plans for any upcoming titles, and this is no exception. It's very logical to assume they'd like to do as many as they can, but there is no official announcement of any plans. OneBuckFilms 323
From what I’ve seen it is a sure bet that LLLR are going to pursue as many classic Bond expansions as they can. They clearly have a relationship with EON, and have already released complete/expanded Bond scores (David Arnold scores), and given that we have this and Live and Let Die, a direction and pattern has been established. If/when they come, I’m here for them. Yavar Moradi and Andy

crumbs 14,317
Given how well the Arnold scores sold, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't get around to both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace at some point too. Both have unreleased music and Arnold seems very supportive and happy to assist. Yavar Moradi and Raiders of the SoundtrArk 1

Popular Post Sweeping Strings 2,363
The use of electric guitar in parts of AVTAK's score helps to add excitement to a Bond film that, if we're honest, needs all the help it can get at times. A. A. Ron 1,742
Yeah it’s not a great film. Even young Christopher Walken and Donna’s mom from That ‘70s Show couldn’t save it.
Sweeping Strings 2,363
Walken and Grace Jones are highpoints, as is the score and title song. But it's definitely 'one Bond too many' for Moore ... as he put it himself 'I was mortified when I found out that I'm actually older than Tanya Roberts' mother', and the use of spottable stunt doubles in fairly straightforward fisticuffs only backs this up (don't get me started on the embarrassingly obvious ones during the Paris chase). The other Secret Service staff being of a similar age or older than Moore just adds to the feeling that it's a 'tired' film.

Sweeping Strings 2,363
People are disparaging about Barbara Bach in TSWLM, too. You can either get all bent out of shape about Bond Girls of old being hired for their eye-candy qualities ahead of anything else back in the day or you can shrug and say 'That's how it was back then'. I prefer the latter.
