All I want from the soundtrack album is to adequately represent music from the film and offer me a nice listen. It doesn't have to mean the album must have all of it. But I like to have this impression that they didn't leave anything vital out (even if 60 minutes is missing). There are some albums that can do that. And no, it doesn't need to be chronological either. The complete releases for me are mostly for archival purposes and for studying. There are, of course, great complete presentations that translate beautifully into good albums, even if they're long. But, most often than not, they don't. But that's not their purpose anyway. Karol

For me, it was when they announced digital pre-orders. There's literally no advantage to that and it makes zero sense.

Well at least these days the appreciation for the music television series is at all time high considering the labels releasing this material. In the 90s it was a rare TV show that warranted a soundtrack release. Although there were strange exceptions like Babylon 5 with few longer concept album style CDs and shorter episode soundtracks being released.

I love the way the violin and tuba combine to form an augmented 9th while the viola de gamba plays arpeggiated diminished 7ths in the key of Cb over the 2 bar riff in the djembes. This is true Williams, I tell you!

The clarity on the new release is impressive. Must more separation in the instrumentation. Really enjoying this.

I will probably listen to "Rey's Theme" (if that is indeed one of the tracks) first, just because I am so curious about whether or not that TV spot was it. Then, the whole album in a go.

I thought it was quite obvious that what you call section C is actually based on the descending chord progression from Darth Vader's theme. Williams did the same in Anakin's theme.

Honestly, I may skip to the End Credits suite first. But probably not.

Nope. Across The Stars is the first love theme in the saga.

Because i'm unable to control myself I'll listen to anything and everything as quick as I can. I wouldn't be able to say no either, especially with the way Disney's been blue balling us. If it does leak, I don't want to find myself sucked into a full listen but I can't resist Rey's Theme, March of the Resistance, or Scherzo for X-Wings. I'll plan for that, I guess, grab those and the new main title recording for a little Force Awakens preview EP, immediately delete the rest, and that'll be enough to keep me away from the Internet until the 18th. But like crumbs, at this point I do kinda hope that somehow they've made it happen where nothing will get out. We've made it this far.

Well that was the deal breaker for me. I would have bought this if it was George Lucas and Ahmed Best (the actor who portrayed Jar Jar Binks) being interviewed about the music. I am dying to hear what Best says about his own theme.

Technically, no. It's an INT release, which replaced their MAF line. As far as I understand, the labels can no longer print more than 5,000 copies of any given release without resorting to more out of pocket expenses.

The long overdue first love theme of the Star Wars saga is easily one of my favourites. Always loved the richness of the orchestration.

This is definitely the time of year to listen to Skyrim, especially if you live somewhere where the season really shows itself. Ahh, this is one drawback of southern California. Must soon visit the parents/in-laws/brother and family in Colorado and listen to that.

Revenge of the Sith is great. Star Wars is pretty good There's a way to be contrarian and not be ludicrous. This is not one of those ways. I'm not saying it purely for the sake of being a contrarian. I believe that ANH was before Williams truely found his footing.

I'm sorry, I mean no offence, but if Williams has written 10 seperate themes for the new film, there will be 10 seperate threads here?

Are any of us really thinking about 35 years ago? I mean, speaking for myself, The Phantom Menace is the earliest I'm thinking back to in terms of what I expect and hope out of this score. If this can even partly approach the best of what he's given us this century, I'll be ecstatic.

Looks really nice. Meanwhile, at long last, I'm going to get to play Journey. A PS4 is incoming.

I'm still playing Mad Max, I've put 40 hours into it up to now, which is a lot for me. It's a huge and visually breathtaking world to disappear into for hours at a time. There's plenty to do and lots of busy work to be had, but I think I like it because above all it feels like a brutally desolate and dangerous place to explore whilst being strangely calming and even tranquil to play. It's a 'no pressure to do anything in particular' sort of game, if you want it to be. Only the sudden roar of gas guzzling armoured saloons can intrude on the peaceful sightseeing, which is normally followed by my sitting up and readying myself for another reenactment of Spielberg's Duel; only Dennis Weaver behind the wheel here is as dangerous as he is desperate. The car combat is utterly brilliant. Mad Max the game is possibly the most stunning open-world expanse I've ever known in games, engrossing and fun to traverse it (so many others in this popular genre don't get that basic requirement down), and I can't see how this isn't going to end up being one of my GOTYs. Capture Mode spam incoming...

Shore should just write a Silmarillion symphony, that's all we need anyway.
