JW recorded the theme arrangement and various demo cues in LA Powell recorded the entire score in London, some of which integrates JW's compositions (via the written page, not the actual LA recordings) So, the entire score from start the finish was recorded by Powell in London, but the big theme arrangement heard in the end credits and presented as track #1 on the OST was conducted by JW in LA Remco

Datameister 2,044
It's nuts to me that this is happening with Solo right now when there are 9 pure Williams Star Wars scores begging for expansion (and remastering, in the OT's case). I'd be curious to know what factors have led them to release this first. Popular Post Jay 37,373
It makes sense to me why Solo might be first SW 1-6 = analog recordings, a producer with experience working on old elements needs to be involved SW 7-9 = digital recordings, but billions of alternates for ever-changing cuts, plus recorded in LA so cost is a factor Rogue One = digital recordings, can quickly assemble deluxe program, but recorded in LA so cost is a factor Solo = digital recordings, can quickly assemble deluxe program, plus recorded in London so no re-use fees = easiest to make happen first Jim Ware, Fabulin, Remco and 4 others

Popular Post Edmilson 7,473
The more Williams' music we get on this new expanded edition for Solo, the bigger is the probability of Disney affording the LA re-use fees. That said, I believe Powell was the one that made this release happen. He wanted to see more of his music out there (and the OST excludes some important bits), so he did the new release. We should really be asking ourselves, does Williams want to see more of his music available? Or does he think the OST is more than enough? IF Williams wants, the expanded editions for the ST scores will happen someday. Chewy, TSMefford and Yavar Moradi
