_deleted_ 203
The Adventures of Han I just realized it's actually very memorable. I think I now rank it above Rey's Theme and below The Jedi Steps and Finale, which I think sums up both Luke's journey through ANH-ROTJ and Rey's journey in TFA very well. Now I'm waiting for IX to surprise me with something as great as Luke and Leia, reflective and hopeful. Ii2

Holko 9,526
Rey's Theme! Opinions on these: MotR I don't like in its concert setting or most of its TFA appearances. Jedi Steps Concert just drags on trying to capitalise on and add to lightning in a bottle, I think unnecessarily. Rebellion is Reborn is nice but not too much more. Its main appeal is how good it is in spite of its mad concept, joining those 2 (3) motifs. The Scherzo is cool but just a new, fun riff on old motifs. Galaxy's Edge's motif I don't find particularly strong and my attention wanes significantly during it. Out of these, Adventures of Han is the one which offers a well-rounded healthy workout on 2 new memorable motifs, thus it's my favourite. bollemanneke and _deleted_
Tom 4,658
I voted for Galaxy's edge, but that might change in a month or two. I think it has better structure and cohesiveness than the other pieces. In terms of melody, Rey's theme is the best of the bunch. I really like the Adventures of Han--probably a 4 star piece for me. However, had Williams added the trumpet riff from Attacking the Stardestroyer to the trumpet riff in AoH, it would be a 5 star piece. _deleted_
King Mark 3,631
I think Rey's Theme is better in it's "action" version than the concert version (Training with the Lightsaber, that unused Rey Runs cue for TLJ deleted scene.
Score 770
"The Jedi Steps", followed by "The Rebellion is Reborn". At the third place I would perhaps put "Scherzo for X-Wings". I'm not a big fan of the other pieces in the list.

The Illustrious Jerry 3,356
Oh I love all of these, but The Adventures of Han was such an exciting piece to hear when it came out, similar to the hype now around Galaxy's Edge. I enjoy the themes from The Force Awakens too, but I feel that the arrangements in The Jedi Steps and Finale and other cues in the film (especially in the case of Rey's Theme) are superior to the actual individual concert suites. I never really liked The Jedi Steps concert suite as much though. I feel like Scherzo for X-Wings was a missed opportunity to tie in Poe's theme too. Popular Post Larry O 115
1) The Jedi Steps I remember when all the trailer music guessing games were going on with TFA and people spent a lot of time arguing back and forth over which piece of trailer-house score was really John Williams. And then that one TV spot dropped with some of "Jedi Steps" in it, and not only was it immediately clear everything else was a well-done imitation and this was the real deal, but that this was special, on top of that. The first comparison that occurred to me was, believe it or not, "Duel of the Fates." Not that they seem to have much in common, but it immediately sounded nothing like Star Wars to me while also being the most Star Wars thing I'd heard in a lonnng time. It's a neat trick (not as neat as spinning) and really, only Jedi Steps and Duel have pulled it off. 2) March of the Resistance It's like in an RPG when your character gets enough XP to level up into a new class or whatever - This is what happens to the Droid Army music when it finally completes its training and ascends to a higher purpose. 3) The Adventures of Han I'm not sure that Williams' thematic work is even the best stuff in the Solo score (I'd put Chewie's theme ahead of it, really) but this concert piece is really, really fun not only in how many buckles get thoroughly and unapologetically swashed throughout, but because the sort of thematic development that usually takes a whole movie to grow happens in the entirety of this one piece. 4) The Rebellion is Reborn This is notable mostly for how it seems like the sort of very clever motif-mixing that used to happen in the end titles (before those became just post-production puzzles to be fitted together and glued down) but as its own separate suite. The fact the motifs are for two characters that never even see each other much less interact in any meaningful way makes it more of a pure musical exercise than anything. Like, imagine a suite that manages to blend Enfys Nest's theme with L3's. Something like that. I'm not saying it wouldn't sound great - "The Rebellion is Reborn" sounds great, too! It just doesn't quite resonate the way the three above it do. 5) Scherzo for X-Wings This has quite a bit in common with "The Rebellion is Reborn," except it's not quite as clever or interesting in how it re-purposes the new material and the old into a cohesive whole. It's very cool that Indiana Jones and Star Wars both have their vehicular scherzos now, and depending on which symphony/conductor are putting it through its paces (I've heard it a little punchier and up-tempo - faster and more intense if you will - and that really helps it out) but it feels like a taster plate on the way to being seated for a full meal later in the evening. 6) Galaxy's Edge This is being unfair probably, but really, it's only been out for a day and I've only listened to it like 3 or 4 times. Almost by default it's gonna sit down at the end of the bench until it becomes more familiar and more interesting things make themselves noticed and the whole thing settles in my brain for increased appreciation. It's not you, Galaxy's Edge, it's me. And unfortunately, I'm not someone like Frank Lehman or Doug Adams or David Collins, so it takes me a little longer to suss out why a thing is brilliant sometimes. _deleted_, Jay, Pieter Boelen and 4 others
Jurassic Shark 12,076
To me, it's a tie between March of the Resistance and The Jedi Steps. @King Mark, shouldn't you include the adagio from FTA? _deleted_
Pieter Boelen 740
1. Galaxy's Edge / The Adventures of Han / March of the Resistance Honestly, I've got no clue how to choose between these three. They're all such tremendous fun! March of the Resistance has that string bit (fugue?) that isn't in the TFA end titles, which adds a lot to it. The Adventures of Han is massively adventurous and, while originally seeming a bit generic, has been growing on me a lot. And Galaxy's Edge feels like an entire adventure by covering a lot of ground in 5 minutes. 2. The Rebellion is Reborn Good too, but a slight step down. It also feels a bit short, because one theme never gets much time to shine before the other takes over. 3. Scherzo for X-Wings I feel like I should like this better than I actually do. Can't explain why. I was hoping for the Star Wars version of "Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra", but it's less unique than that. The way Luke's and The Force themes are worked in are quite clever, but the base melody doesn't really have the same hook as the Indiana Jones scherzo does. 4. The Jedi Steps (Concert Version) I like the film version of "The Jedi Steps" a great lot, but somehow I feel like the concert version's extra variations dilutes the power from the original. But I also haven't listened to this one very often yet, so maybe it'll go up the list at some point. The Illustrious Jerry

I hear a lot to love in the Scherzo for X-Wings composition but there isn’t really a performance/recording yet that fully does it for me. I remember somebody got a little bit of him doing it in concert at like 1.5x the OST speed and felt like it had more attack, I dunno. I hope there are some TFA suite re-recordings in the future and I’ll find a favorite version. But it’s very good. I remember when that was the first bit of music we got from TFA via 60 Minutes and shit was so on. I like all of these but Adventures of Han is the most fun overall to me. I might favor the middle part of Rebellion is Reborn and the cool ending, though. Would probably vote Jedi Steps & Finale or Rey’s Theme if they were here. But this piece is too fresh in my mind to really get my vote. I voted for March Of The Resistance because this is the real deal. This piece grew on me and I can’t count the times I’ve listened to it. If you take away the dry recording of TFA album (even if I don’t mind it) it really is iconic. It has this sense of epic and joy but augmented with JW dense orchestration. Popular Post crumbs 14,316
Not sure I understand the criterion for this poll, nor its omissions. Is it just because Rey's Theme would mop the floor with everything else so there's no point including it? Once all is said and done after TROS, we should have a definitive poll of all Williams' modern Star Wars concert suites. It's already quite the assortment after only 4 years: Rey's Theme March of the Resistance The Jedi Steps Jedi Steps and Finale Scherzo for X-Wings Adagio The Rebellion is Reborn Han Solo and the Princess (Revised) The Adventures of Han Galaxy's Edge Really hoping JJ pushes for several new concert suites for TROS, most importantly an original credits suite to close out the saga (and not bloody Throne Room for the third time!)
