Someday somebody will crack it and write a good Star Trek score.  Until then, you have to admire their perseverance.

All the composers so far trying to write a good Trek score:

I hope that in time everyone will realize what a genius LB is who deserves that every note he wrote for M:I DRP1 be released on CD.

I'm certain every single note will be released regardless.

Those are GNP, not LLL right?

I wish I were a trekkie, not a Star Wars fan (not DSW). I like Courage’s original ST theme, but hasn’t seen a single episode of any ST show, let alone the original series. To me ST is the films (not the Abrams reboots) and the JG, JH scores which I love. So this is the third ST set LLL is releasing when I’m: meh.
Looking forward to BF.

Yeah -- I see now it was only LLL releases being asked about, originally, but I was responding to the "MORE!" demand. These were worked on by a lot of the same people (just for things being held in perpetuity by GNP).

I wish you were too. There is great entertainment to be found in the Original Series.  The music is indelible. For a kid who grew up with it, these discs hold treasure.

I’m happy for the fans. I wish I could share their enthusiasm, but I grew up with Star Wars and ST always felt to me like the poor man’s SW. I’m aware of the intellectual merits of the series and I appreciate it. But it’s not enough for me to buy 3 2-CD sets of a 60s tv show I haven’t seen and most likely never will.

Pretty much same here, except I don't wish I were a trekkie ;)

I've seen Abrams' first two movies and one of the 90s ones (the latter because it was on TV in a hotel - wasn't really watching). Score-wise a bit more as I've got Goldsmith's FC and Insurrection.

But I suspect that MV is a big fan of these scores, and thankfully for LLL they have a customer base that does too.

But now they've gotten Trek out of the way and the 'new' release they do now and again, fingers crossed that they've managed to do a handful of interesting BF releases. If they're stuck on approvals hopefully that means they won't be reissues.

As far as LLR releasing Trek music from their box set as individual volumes I'm all for it. While not being personally interested it's great to see music that might have been out of people's price range or only found out about it too late to get it becoming available again.

For me anytime I get an itch to watch some Star Trek it's the original movies (II - IV and VI every so often), I watched the shows back in the 90's when they were on BBC2, that's TOS to Voyager. Caught the first episode of Enterprise but it didn't grab me like the others so haven't seen the rest of it. I quite enjoyed Abrams first Trek, it's not a good Trek film but found it to be a fun sci-fi/action film regardless. And I watched the first season of Discovery, and well didn't feel the need to see anymore after that.

Yes, dear La-La- Land, I know the Balfe does not sell. But why would it? Not a great score is it? Some good parts, perhaps, yes? But overall, somewhat repetitive, no? Not finding a dynamic range, perhaps? Well, why not? Was it not recorded properly? Why release it then? Lorne Balfe?

MV used to post here from time to time, but a few years ago he blew up at one of our members over an offhand comment they made (which was very innocuous, especially compared to the actual rude and dumb shit we all say around here) and got tut-tutted by the mods for it.  Hasn’t posted since.

Seems like an extremely entertaining story. Are these posts still on the forum or were they swept under the rung by our mods?
