Pretty much same here, except I don't wish I were a trekkie I've seen Abrams' first two movies and one of the 90s ones (the latter because it was on TV in a hotel - wasn't really watching). Score-wise a bit more as I've got Goldsmith's FC and Insurrection. But I suspect that MV is a big fan of these scores, and thankfully for LLL they have a customer base that does too. But now they've gotten Trek out of the way and the 'new' release they do now and again, fingers crossed that they've managed to do a handful of interesting BF releases. If they're stuck on approvals hopefully that means they won't be reissues. JTN

Not sure if you’re a Trekkie if you can’t tolerate its origins, which are sacred. You have to learn to embrace the aesthetics for the time it was made and realize that even “lesser”’ episodes still have worthwhile interactions between the trio of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. Even if the episode doesn’t quite stick the landing, there is always something charming and worthwhile in every episode. The films 1-6 are just damn good movies, and they collectively do a pretty good job of summing up all the different aspects of the Original Series but for a modern 80s audience. Hard to believe there’s only a decade gap between the visuals and aesthetics of TMP and the Original Series. I tend to hold Star Trek to a different level of scrutiny than Star Wars. Because it’s so character driven and established with 79 original episodes, I’m willing to give it more rent free space in my head. Star Wars has to work harder to earn my love. Trek is my happy place. I guess I really do adore Gene’s Utopian Future. Holko, 1977, Bryant Burnette and 2 others
Stark 318
I have much the same thoughts… but only for the original series and its respective movies. Groovygoth666 699
As far as LLR releasing Trek music from their box set as individual volumes I'm all for it. While not being personally interested it's great to see music that might have been out of people's price range or only found out about it too late to get it becoming available again. For me anytime I get an itch to watch some Star Trek it's the original movies (II - IV and VI every so often), I watched the shows back in the 90's when they were on BBC2, that's TOS to Voyager. Caught the first episode of Enterprise but it didn't grab me like the others so haven't seen the rest of it. I quite enjoyed Abrams first Trek, it's not a good Trek film but found it to be a fun sci-fi/action film regardless. And I watched the first season of Discovery, and well didn't feel the need to see anymore after that.

thestat 352
Yes, dear La-La- Land, I know the Balfe does not sell. But why would it? Not a great score is it? Some good parts, perhaps, yes? But overall, somewhat repetitive, no? Not finding a dynamic range, perhaps? Well, why not? Was it not recorded properly? Why release it then? Lorne Balfe? Edmilson 7,510
Oh I'm pretty sure Balfe does sell - he has a lot of fans. That said, I imagine that his fans skew younger and are more likely to listen to his stuff on streaming instead of buying CDs. JTN
Popular Post Jay 37,441
HO HO HO Greetings from the North Pole -- The Valley Sector Since Dec 1 our monkey-elves have been hard at work processing, packing and shipping out orders. As a reminder, we are NOT Amazon and can't fulfill orders faster than you can spell Bezos (and we do allow pee breaks and let our employees go home to sleep) We have been slamming through as many orders as we can, every day, working over time (even on Sundays) to get all the orders out. Currently our best seller, HOOK, is out of stock. We stopped taking orders on this title temporarily so we can fill all the orders we do have and get them out to you as soon as possible. If you ordered Hook directly from us you will have your order shipped off before we close our doors for the year on Dec 19. As we stated before, we START shipping on Dec 1. All these WHERE IS MY ORDER? emails aren't necessary. We have your order. We are working on getting your order out. We would rather focus on sending out your order than taking time out to look up your orders and respond. We have found that by the time you ask and you get a response from us, your order has been delivered. Please be patient with us. Our elves are working as quickly as they possibly can Hook will be back in stock late December/early January. When it comes back in we will start taking your orders again on the website. As for Zorro and Sneakers...we are running low on these titles, so if you want them sooner than later I would order now because the 2nd batch most likely won't be in until February/March 2024 We have plenty of Topaz and a ton of Moment to Moment cds in stock. Furthermore, The Lost World will be back in stock some time in February 2024 along with the final batch of Titanic cds. https://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=152849&forumID=1&archive=0 MaxTheHouseelf, Raiders of the SoundtrArk, Smaug The Iron and 7 others
