  1. Yeah he looks heartbroken to be having forced a Williams theme upon him!

I know it would be better with a 7.1 rip but I couldn't find one.

  3. George never got it wrong with Ewan as Obi-Wan. Most people praise him as the highlight of the PT. He was excellently written, directed, choreographed and performed. He was a bold one.

  4. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney offered Lucas a standalone film after they didn't follow his suggestions for the sequel trilogy.

  5. That's good then because it means we can get the music even cleaner once the Blu-Ray is released!

  8. He mostly didn't list third movies which are the best, but ones which are not the worst of their respective franchises.

  9. Solo is being recorded in London right now so Williams theme for Han is already done. I guess that makes sense since it comes out in May. I'm actually excited to hear Williams' theme and Powell's score.

  10. The stormtroopers’ voices weren’t replaced by Morrison at all. The clones were phased out and the troopers you see in the OT are all individuals.

  11. Kenobi: You know that none of those people are even slightly related to him? Yoda: Listen to me you will. Kenobi: Since we are hiding him from Sidious and Anakin, what last name should we give Luke? Yoda: Skywalker. Kenobi: But... Yoda: To Yoda you listen. Kenobi: I think I now get how the Jedi were all destroyed.

  12. Maybe a "Prisoners" march since the only two times it appears are when some prisoners are escorted (Poe in TFA, Finn & Rose in TLJ).

  13. The same march can be heard in TFA as well:

  14. I think a Kenobi movie would deserve a George Lucas to direct. He and Ewan were part of the prequels together, so another movie with them is completely fine by me. However, how the actual film plays out is something of a concern to me. We already have it filled in that Obi Wan was just hermiting around for a few years. Should the movie leave the planet Tatooine? Who would be the main villain? Surely they can't pull in the Empire with this one, right? What will they do to make bantha riding and talking to a hazy Liam Neeson exciting?

  15. A couple years ago, I would have said you're absolutely right. But given how much trouble Disney apparently is having finding directors for these things, now I'm not so sure. Lucas knows the material, knows how to direct a Star Wars film, and within budget. And while a lot of fans would groan, having his name attached to a new Star Wars film would be a huge deal in terms of PR and promotion. If someone else handled scripting duties (something he hates) based on one of his stories....who knows. I'm not saying it's going to happen (it probably won't) or that it's a good idea (it's probably not), but if they're willing to give Rian Johnson, who obviously hates Star Wars, carte blance to do what he wants, why not give the maker himself another go around the pod race track?

  16. Can you imagine how Ewan McGregor would feel? FINALLY he gets a chance to be in a good Star Wars movie, made by a director, any director, that knows how to work with actors, and show what he can really do...and he's told he has to work with "good enough" Lucas again.

  19. You're not wrong, Pub! Trite, rhetorical, clichéd, inane. Once all the good composers have either gone, or have fucked off, having nothing to do with Episode XV, this is what we'll be left with.

  22. No, they are both excellent. IMO the only underwhelming Williams score from the last 8 years is Book Thief.

  23. The loudspeakers are Jensen XR-100, 185w RMS, 6 ohms. They're not on spikes, but they're pretty stable. And yep, that's a Quadraspire! Got it for a bargain on eBay recently for $750 (normally retails for about $1,500). I love it too because the seller had the standard version listed, but they sent me the deeper large version instead! Happy surprise.

  24. It cannot be! (Unless it's taken over-the-top; then it can.) I did like The Last Jedi, but I'd rather they have averaged it out over both.

  26. The Skull Theme is great because it's minimalistic like Jaws. Overall a decent score that doesn't reach the level of its predecessors. The film is also a decent film that doesn't ... predecessors.

  29. Of course it is there for marketing purposes. And why Williams name works for good marketing is because he is the best in the business. So, ultimately, you are upset because they wanted Williams involved because he is the best. That is kind of weird on your part.

  31. Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to see a biopic that dwells into Bernstein's personality -hopefully without shying away from his sexuality- but who the hell is gonna watch this? If the Lincoln pic barely made into cinemas, there's no way this doesn't end up as an HBO film. Which could be great for the film itself but Spielberg seems completely against anything less than the big screen for his directorial work. And I would love to hear a Williams' theme for Lenny.

  35. Sitting in the cinema a day before the official premiere, I was a bit nervous what I should expect, whether it was going to be any good... 1:36-1:40 was all I needed to immediately start grinning , relax, and immerse myself fully in the ride.

    THE POST - SCORE Thread

Whenever I listen to "Mother and Daughter" I kinda wish Williams had done a big ol sweepy string arrangement of that melody for the end credits. Maybe just cause it reminds me of the "Remembering Emilie" theme. Every time I hear this... ...I get the urge to hear it like this But the latter is a better melody anyway.
