  1. Link (https://www.disneymusicemporium.com/product/XVCD60/john-williams-indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny_ )seems to be live again for pre-order. My order went through and there's a corresponding pending charge on my credit card. Crossing fingers, and good luck everyone else who also missed out!

  2. Yes, it is https://www.disneymusicemporium.com/product/XVCD60/john-williams-indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny The initial screen says "Sorry, we're temporarily out of this item. We'll ship it as soon as it's restocked", but you can add it to your cart and complete the order. The item in your cart will say "This item is out of stock. We'll ship it as soon as it's restocked." So I guess they decided to print more. Good on them!

  8. OPPENHEIMER Ludwig Göransson I didn't see the film until yesterday, so now it was my turn to contribute. I'm surprised no one (at least to my knowledge) has done this yet, these were made from the original black and white photographs of the Trinity test.

  9. Yeah let's all smash that "thank you" reaction for @Eplicon - hero of the forum! Now we can sit and wonder when this will actually ship, and if there'll be any more chills and spills before then. Would it be premature to change my answer to this poll? haha.

  10. Got a ticket! $217 in the second highest balcony. There was one ticket for just under $200, but with an obstructed view. Probably still a couple more seats available at the moment!

  18. JW: "Steven, what's this tune? I cannot get it out of my head. Tadadah-tadadadah-tadadahdah-dada!" SS: "I know that. Maybe something from War Horse?" JW: "No, I don't think, that I have written that. It's something different. Tadadah-tatadadah. Gosh, this is terrible!" SSp: "Chopin probably? No. Wait! Titanic! James Horner." JW: "Yes, Titanic. Thank you. That's it. I hate that tune."

  21. i enjoy the misfortune of megacorps that actively make the world of movies worse, and i hope (perhaps pointlessly) that a string of large enough failures, strikes, and even regulations changes things enough that we can get more interesting or daring movies, perhaps even scores

  22. SS: Have you heard that the Indy 5 CD is back up for pre-orders at Disney Emporium? JW: Oh f*ck...I've just wasted 5000 and 800 Dollars on ebay!

  24. Oh my gosh! Ordered! Thanks for the heads up, @Eplicon!! It’s been an hour since you posted and they’re still allowing orders, too. I guess they finally decided to press more - just wonder how many. And to think, someone bought one on eBay last night for $760. Ouch to them!

  25. It was a difficult decision, but I believe the way the theme of "The Book Thief" resolves itself at the end of the movie greatly influenced my choice. I've mentioned this before, but I'll reiterate: if you listen closely to the theme of "The Book Thief" at the beginning of the movie, you'll notice something "broken" about it. There's a note that isn't quite right, or it's played in a minor key, creating a sense of something being "off" (not necessarily wrong in an absolute sense, but rather in a way that suggests it can be resolved). Then, in the final rendition of the theme, that missing note finally appears, symbolizing the victory of death – a central aspect of the story, which, if I remember correctly, is narrated by death itself. This narrative delves into how one might strive to elude death for a span of years, or even decades, yet ultimately, death prevails in the end... and that's oddly comforting, even positive. John Williams' musical composition of this theme is truly a stroke of genius.

  26. I know. But still I find this hard to comprehend. Yes, Angela's Prayers is a great piece. But also the main theme from the Book Thief, the combination of the main melody in the piano right hand and the conter melody in the left is to die for. Both memorable, both beautiful and together just perfection. John Williams counterpointing is... just... *sigh!

  30. Hmm. This is a tough one. DRACULA is, by far, the more romantic of the scores, but THE FURY is fairly electric with anger, frustration, and tragedy. DRACULA is a deeper, richer score, but, for me, THE FURY is more virtuosic, and better written. It's as if the spirit of BH was working through him. The better score? Hard to tell. Both represent JW at the top of his game, and both represent different sides of his compositional psyche. I understand the detractors of THE FURY, when they mention the Herrmannisms, but I really don't care. If you're going to emulate someone, then it might as well be Benny Those critics should remind themselves of how JW got the gig... Now: the crux of the matter. For me, it's C&C DRACULA, and the OST for THE FURY. If nothing else, the OST, is a brilliantly put together piece of work. It's played better, and it's recorded better than the score. If I was forced to choose, then... it's DRACULA, by a nose (a very, very small nose).

  32. That's such a pity. I haven't listened through headphones yet but 95% of my listening happens this way. Now I'm dreading it. If only film music recordings were all properly catalogued, backed up and preserved.

  34. The end has begun! We've come so far and are, as always, so appreciative of everyone who's listened to this project in part, or entirely. We are very happy to be releasing Cue 34: Opening and Snape's Resolve today! This summer has been exciting for us, as we're now both working with Logic Pro. We have revamped our sound for this movie with the aim of sounding more like Sorcerer's Stone. We've even given the website a bit of a fresh look. We're both excited to hear your thoughts and are looking forward to the coming months of diving into Hallows 2!

  37. So, @Justanothercrow421, I read not too long ago that they, um, discovered the Mondo JP vinyl gives off, like, a bunch of radon and it's really not safe to hang onto it. Luckily, I'm trained in the disposal of hazardous products like these and I'd be willing to take it off your hands. It'd be better if you let me take care of that LP. Let me do at least that much for you.
