  3. fanedits with rear channel rips are crap for sure, but this is totally different. What I hear so far sounds quite good, and would be even more amazing when we get a lossless rip/recording. The final edit version will be a mix of OST/FYC/ISO score. This is the most important thing Star Wars score related that has happened in JWFan history. We were dreaming this of the Prequels and TFA and pretty much any JW score now we have it for a freaking Star Wars score. I can't believe how many hours I spent editing 10 second bits of music from videogames for the Prequels when we could have had something like this We ll i'm freaking out right now because I can't buy it and until I can get a hold of a copy I won't be able to sleep

  5. "Don't buy the Blu-Ray, com'on you hated the movie!!!" "Buy it, buy it, it may include an isolated score!!!"

  6. I feel so helpless right now and depending for an illegal option to turn up to listen to it. I hate all these music and movie services and this region restricted nonsense. This is what happens when you adopt these services for convenience instead of owning your media .Fuck them

  7. If I torrent the version with hard coded Korean subtitles, do I still get the isolated score?

  8. Yes, Lions Gate will not port over because they do not support MoviesAnywhere right now. Paramount and MGM also don't support MoviesAnywhere. Only Disney, Fox, WB, Universal and Sony movies support MA. I love MoviesAnywhere because it finally did the one thing Ultraviolet could never do, get iTunes, Google and Amazon on board. Anyway, I bought the UHD version of TLJ from Vudu so I also have it in my MA account. I can use the MA app on the Apple TV to play the isolated score and, when I enable the developer mode HUD, can see the audio bitrate. I'll post it later tonight if someone doesn't beat me to it.

  9. And we'll have all the unreleased Holdo material clean...! And Finn & Rose escaping the Supremacy! This is incredible!!! I'm actually shocked they got Williams' approval for this (presumably). Looks like I might as well cancel my expansion seeing as the whole thing needs to be overhauled now!

  10. 'Last Jedi' Commentary Reveals a Startling Fact About 'Star Wars' Music
    3 points
  11. I am contemplating buying it later on, just to play it through my Amazon Fire box hooked up to my Onkyo receiver, so it can tell me what format/bitrate it is playing. Unfortunately, I have no idea in the world how I would rip/record it off my receiver or anything. I mean, I suppose I could hook up old fashioned RCA cables to the Line Out on the back of it and record that with a computer, but I hate to use the analog hole to record something originating in perfect digital quality. I'd rather wait for some smart guy on the internet to figure out how to rip the digital stream directly with no quality loss.

  12. It doesn't matter if the movie is good or bad; The MUSIC Is great, and now we get all of it! Well, all that you can hear in the final cut, not all recorded

  13. Oh, you almost got me!!! For seconds I thought this news was super exciting, then I realized I hated the movie!

  14. https://moviesanywhere.com/movie/star-wars-the-last-jedi As has been pointed out you can only download the isolated score if you are in the US. Not sure if you can get around that by using a VPN. Unfortunately, the file they give you is only 16bit / 48khz / 96kbps AAC. I think the best thing to do is spam Rian Johnson's twitter being NICE and THANKING him for making the isolated score available, but point out that its only 96kbps and maybe he could get Movies Anywhere to release it in 256kbps instead? I also DO think its VERY likely that the NEXT blu ray that comes out for Last Jedi will have this feature on it, then we'll have it in 24bit / 48khz / lossless DTS-MA.

  15. Well, whatever their motivation is I hope it works out for them. Because that would tell Disney people want complete score releases for those films. Karol

  16. Good luck. I asked him "why do you hate Star Wars so much" and he still hasn't answered.

  17. https://nerdist.com/star-wars-the-last-jedi-music-only-cut/ "Johnson also revealed that the “music only” cut of the film will be available to anyone who buys The Last Jedi‘s digital release (which is out now) or the upcoming Blu-ray." Sorry, there's lots of conflicting information here and I'm trying my best to make an informed decision...

  19. It's going to be available via a US only app at 56 kbps

  20. I am 99.99999999% sure the 96kbps AAC version ONLY exists as what they give to people on non-HDCP compliant devices who also get the SD version of the film itself. Anyone playing this on a normal HDCP-compliant device like an Amazon Fire box/stick, Roku box/stick, Apple TV, smart TV, PS4, XBoxOne, etc etc etc are likely getting this feature in the same normal quality as any other movie they'd stream on that platform. And yea, I have an Onkyo receiver and it can actually display on my TV the bitrate and format of any audio it is playing

  22. It’s not that the humor itself is funny or isn’t. It’s that it sometimes feels misplaced in all those dramatic beats.

  24. The London Philharmonic Orchestra (http://www.lpo.org.uk) and the Philharmonia (http://www.philharmonia.co.uk) are two of the top five professional symphony orchestras based in London (the others being the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra). Both the LPO and the Philharmonia give most of their London concerts at the Royal Festival Hall while the LSO and BBCSO are based at the Barbican, while the RPO gives most of its concerts at Cadogan Hall or the Royal Albert Hall. There are of course many other brilliant chamber orchestras, professional and semi-professional orchestras in a city the size of London, e.g. the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Covent Garden Sinfonia and others. The National Philharmonic Orchestra no longer exists. It was put together by Charles Gerhardt and Sidney Sax exclusively as a recording orchestra, although I believe it did give a few concerts in the Filmharmonic series back in the day. It drew its players from all of the different London orchestras; the nearest modern equivalent in that regard would be the John Wilson Orchestra.

  26. That's what I'm confused about. It's free to sign up at MA. But how would the Blu-Ray know if you signed up? It's possible that the Blu-Ray wouldn't actually contain the isolated score but would merely have an access code to view it on MA...

  28. I’m so glad we’re all having this conversation again. There’s definitely things that haven’t been said before a million times since 1999. Prequel debates should definitely happen twice a week. Just in case we get any new members who feel they have an opinion on this that hasn’t been aired 3,00,000 times.

  30. Not an option. And Disney is actually interested in releasing expanded albums...because they are doing it. Karol

  31. I bet the low bitrate was a condition under which they could release this. And I bet Disney doesn't want to shoot themselves in the leg with releasing all of this so early in the game. In either case, it's a good sign. Karol

  32. I'm going to guess that MA is using this as a marketing thing and therefore couldn't be bothered to arrange licensing the music outside the US. But if they think it's going to stop the world obtaining it, they're idiots.

  36. Lol, I really don't get why the humour in this film is so offensive to people. It's just... humour.

  37. This. Some people seem to forget that about 70% of ROTS is every bit as hard to watch as AOTC is. Simply having dialogue (and acting) that doesn't hit your ears like fingernails on a chalkboard forgives a lot in the Disney Star Wars films.

  38. I always say that to me, then I watch it again... and find it so bad! It's at least the only prequel episode which is placed at a right period on the SW timeline. Episode I occurs to early (baby Anakin, really?)... and Episode II occurs before... the Clone Wars... what a bummer!
