  2. Lol, I got downvoted to oblivion on reddit a couple months ago for daring to assume that the trailer music in the leaked trailer was still going to be used in the final public version. ...Annnd here we are. Absolute garbage, and it sounds even worse in good quality. The horn samples towards the end sound unbelievably fake. Would it really have killed them to just use some of the classic Indy music from the previous films???

  3. The first comment on the trailer is someone saying JW music in the trailer is great. I'm dying.

  4. Anyone else thinks the movie looks a bit too Marvel-ish? "Indiana Jones and the Search for the Infinity Gauntlet"

  5. Spielberg has had a not great track record with casting young men over the last 20 years. They've mostly ranged from bad (Justin Chatwin in WOTW) to the just ok, not actively hurting the movie but not good either (Jeremy Irvine in War Horse, Tye Sheridan in RP1). Well, he finally struck gold with The Fabelmans. I was so impressed with Gabriel LaBelle in this movie, he really knocked it out of the park in every way. That scene with the jock bully in the hallway after showing the beach movie.... wow, the absolute highlight of the movie for me and LaBelle was truly great in it.

  10. I hate how they always start the trailers with the same type of music.

  15. I noticed that you have posted four times, once for each of the major John Williams concerts and each time about two tickets available for which you couldn't attend. Is there a reason you couldn't make it to each of these concerts? Just to check you're not attempting to scam any fans...

  16. The story was her realizing it. I can see people not liking the pacing, or the lack of humor, or maybe even missing a sense of adventure. Those are arguably the biggest departures from past Star Wars. But the two things in this show that are absolutely perfect are the prison arc and everything with Mon Mothma. To me one of the greatest moments of the entire series was when MM meets with the scummy banker and he says "I don't want money, I want your child" and you see her realize that she had no idea the game that she was playing, what would be asked of her, and what she would be willing to do. It was overshadowed by some pretty amazing events in the rest of the episode. (I mean, it had Andy Serkis being astonishing AND Luthen's speech.)

  17. I don't know if anyone really cares, but I did a comparison of these 4 tracks, and it turns out that Track 5 "I’m With You (You Seem Nice)" on the FYC is identical to the OST version. Like, it sounds 100% identical. On the other tracks, even on matching segments, you can hear differences in the mastering.

  18. There is absolutely no point. Apparently it was the composer's choice but I am sure that almost everyone who is buying this expanded, already owns the regular release. It gets more redundant, more expensive as a product and more shipping costs for people overseas.

  19. Nice! Exactly the same for me with Home Alone 2. I bought it ready for 1 Dec, today!

  20. I've had this CD sitting in shrink-wrap on my shelf for 9 months, waiting until December to listen to it. I just completed my first listen through of CD 1 today, and picked up on this straight away (I was listening on good headphones). It was the only noticeable audio blip on the whole first CD, particularly since the score sounds so much cleaner than the regular OST which I am used to listening to. BTW I checked CD2 and "Follow That Kid!" has the exact same scratching noise at 1:53. I compared it with the OST on Spotify, and right where the noise is on the LLL set, the OST instead has some kind of high frequency drop-out (perhaps to mask it?). Most intriguing... Regardless, I'm keen to listen to the score again, as it was a fun time (and very cartoony-feeling, with all the extra Wet Bandit musical material included on the LLL set).

  29. Pre-covid? That's insane! I wonder if Jay would tell us how long he's had this. I hope this means MM has tackled dozens of stuff that will still take years to be approved.

  30. Do you just have no idea what kind of show this is? It’s an ensemble show, it’s important to regularly check in to see what each of our main players is up to and progress the plot at the same time. You can’t do that if you dedicate entire episodes to one character’s perspective, that’s not the point of the show. I seriously doubt your ability to judge someone a good or bad editor if you’ve somehow missed how deliberately juxtaposed a lot of those scenes are and how much meaning you would miss without the intercutting.

  36. I agree, I find the Americana very generic (it's Lincoln that convinced me that it can be enjoyable at all) and I'm not even that fond of the Dry Your Tears theme. Cinqué's Theme, however, I love every rendition and variation of it. It may be one of my five favourite themes by Williams and since it's carrying large parts of the score, that score is one of my favourite scores by Williams.

  43. I agree that her subplots really didn't cover that much ground over the course of the season … but I also found them really compelling to watch. Genevieve O'Reilly has truly hit her stride with this character. In ROTS's deleted scenes, she struck me as a rather stilted lookalike. In R1, she got to give a more mature and nuanced performance. Now, in Andor, she totally steals the show with everything she says—and everything she doesn't.
